Obtained his title of nobility through adoption and became prosperous as a result of his marriage to Anneliese Henkell. daughter of Germany‘s richest champagne maker. Joined the NSDAP in 1932 and became Ambassador in London in 1936. Sentenced to death at Nuernberg in 1946 and executed.
